Passport must be valid for a minimum of three months from date of arrival for tourism and six months for business travel.
A special category of visas is a Tourist Visa which entitles its holder to a 30 day stay and can be extended for another 30 days. The Tourist Visa requires the sponsorship of hotels and tour operators who bring in visitors to the UAE. The fee is AED100 in addition to minor delivery fees.

No need for a visa:
GCC nations (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman)
Visa delivered upon arrival:
GCC residents with high level professions: managerial, doctors, engineers, pharmacists.
The following countries: Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Brunei, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Paraguay, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Canada, United States of America, Australia, New Zealand.
Visa required prior to arrival:
All other nations than the ones listed above must obtain a visa through a sponsor. Sponsors can be:
Hotels and tourist companies
Airlines and airlines handlers crew
Organizations
Individuals (relatives or friends)
